Reminder of the basics.
Keep gas tanks full
Keep cash on hand for purchases
Keep water on hand for those who don't get water when the power is off / fill up bathtub to use water to flush toilets or get a porta poddy.. or lug-a-loo.. or garbage bags for waste basket. Kitty litter works too.
Buy a one burner propane camper stove and those small propane cans to use for cooking
Hurricane lanterns, candles and headlamps for light
Battery charger for cell phones/computers or use car to do this
Freeze gallon milk jugs filled with water to keep fridge food cold.
Barbecue is good to have on hand for cooking
Quoting: Proud Trump Supporter Canned juices, canned meat, etc, food that doesn’t need cooked, a non-electric can opener. Know how to open your garage door, for those of you who use a garage door opener. Things are so different now, I’d say get paper maps but most don’t know how to read them anyway. Personally I’d say lights off after dark, non-prepared neighbors will target you if you appear to have planned ahead.
