Hot Take: Sweat shops are not part of the capitalist model or they would happen in America
There's a reason why these big corporations have to go to Communist China to make sweat shops and slave labor part of their business model this has been going on since nafta and we have to stop it the exploitation of human beings across the globe must come to an end we must not bow down to authoritarian China and we must stop making them rich by doing it

Re: Hot Take: Sweat shops are not part of the capitalist model or they would happen in America
they did happen in America

however, the workers made unions

the unions lobbied gov.

and labor laws were created

the industrial revolution was unfettered capitalism allowed to run its course

complete with sweatshops and child slave labor
ya know like using kids to do chimney sweeping
and oh it's time to start the fires again
no time to wait for all the kids to get out
because time is money

many were cooked alive in chimneys

The industrialization n the creation of a nation is not what I'm talking about I'm talking about solidified capitalist models in which the laws dictate it is OK for sweatshops to happen we don't have that they're totally illegal and that's why they have to go to China

whenever you have laws you have government interference in capitalism

social capitalism is not "pure" capitalism

the US and capitalism was solidified by the 1900s
however,

that unfettered capitalism

Produced DDT, PCBs, and hosts of other toxic and poisonous chemicals,
even the lead additive for leaded gasoline was manufactured at the expense of sweatshop type employees

Produced the Flint Michigan toxic water table
Produced the Love Canal unregulated toxic waste dump site
Produced manufacturing with no regulation on the waste byproducts

now there are so many EPA laws it's impossible to start most types of Mfg. in the US

try setting up a Battery Mfg. plant
no district, county, or state wants that shit on their soil

You are talking about MONOPOLY Capitalism, that's what we have today. Some call it Mercantilism, but it's really a MONOPOLY.

The other side of the communist coin.

Don't be afraid.

You must be young. A lot of the brand name stuff, shoes and clothes, were originally made in sweat shops in America.

Many people refused to buy any, for that reason.
