We could return to some balance in life, where we own our own land in families and small communities. Grow our own perma-culture gardens/orchards/livestock and share it freely among ourselves. It's only communism/socialism if enforced by a centralized authority, otherwise it's just people living a balanced life.

We should be in a situation where we can choose whether we want to work for corporations/money or not, but most of society is too irresponsible honestly.

I know people that work 90 hours a week and never see their family, never spend time with their kids, never enjoy the things their money has bought them.

I work, I have a business and my wife works, can't NOT have a job in this world, but you have to have some balance or what's the point?

I'll admit it's a useful tool but it does have a dirty feel to me... wish we didn't need it. I am blessed to have enough for my needs and am grateful to God for the provision but I look forward to leaving this earth and all the material ties

You spend your whole life planning for a future. Climbing the staircase of materialism never quite having or feeling its enough. It will never satisfy you. By the time you realize this you are up in age with little time left but complete understanding.
