The Vedic scriptures teach that whatever is on your mind at the moment of death is what you will experience in the next life. That fits with the many different descriptions we can read on NDEs. Some see jesus, some see family members, some see hell, etc.
It's why it's so important to keep your thought pure and always on the Divine, if that's where you want to go next....... If you want to see Jesus in heaven with floating clouds and angels, that's where you'll go.

He described how demons in hell can manipulate sceneries for the person in hell to get them to think they are in Heaven. The only purpose for this is because they know those people will be resusicated back and will give a message. It's to lie and to trick people into believing you don't have to believe anything and you will end up in Heaven. There are thousands upon thousands of NDE experiences... many are quite different from the others. I never said anything about that demons can't manipulate a scenery. But I do maintain that your beliefs will lead you to your next place of being. If you want to be with jesus in heaven, that's what you'll experience, although it will just be another controlled matrix like the one we're in. If you want to see 70 virgins, it's likely that is what you'll experience. If you're a christian afraid of hell....... you'll probably go to hell. It's all what we create in our belief construct.
