Re: What happens after we die?
The same thing before you were born. Nothing lol.

Memory is in the brain. When it dies your memories die
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77082108

this idea though, can somewhat be fairly easily challenged.

if a chicken fucks a chicken. the offspring will possess vast instinctual knowledge, the consciousness of the parents. instincts are memories

obviously this did not exist in the brain but in the germ, the seed, the sperm, and the egg.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78062558

to say that all memories of the parent, exist in the egg or sperm. in the genetics. and forms the memories/instincts in the offspring

i don't really remember anything of my parents life, no specific memories, nothing was transferred. certain characteristics, maybe the body itself is really just memory. matter but matter constructed from the memory of the germ cells

What happens to a person after death?
Do we go somewhere specific?
Is there a heaven or a hell?
What about reincarnation?

Well, most people are cremated and turn to ashes or rot until they have only bones left.

the thing is, sleep is a physical sensation.

if we did not have a body, we could not really experience the sensation of sleep. we are NOT unconscious really, our body is still very much conscious, and in the process of healing our body

God's version: The bolded part is the Great White Throne event from Re:20.
Ec:3:20:
All go unto one place;
all are of the dust,
and all turn to dust again.
Ec:12:7:
Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was:
and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
Ec:9:10:
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do,
do it with thy might;
for there is no work,
nor device,
nor knowledge,
nor wisdom,
in the grave,
whither thou goest.
Job:14:12-15:
So man lieth down,
and riseth not:
till the heavens be no more,
they shall not awake,
nor be raised out of their sleep.
O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave,
that thou wouldest keep me secret,
until thy wrath be past,

that thou wouldest appoint me a set time,
and remember me!
If a man die,
shall he live again?
all the days of my appointed time will I wait,
till my change come.
Thou shalt call,
and I will answer thee:
thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.

Re: What happens after we die?
I've heard of many testimonials from emergency room doctors that said a patient was clinically dead, yet was able to describe after resuscitation what was taking place in the room during death, and not just audio, but visually.

I've also come across may stories of Lucid Dreaming, where individuals seemingly leave their body and can perceive things away from their body, often in distant lands.

If by "evidence", you mean something that a modern Marxist University will present as fact, the same schools that push the Darwinian out of Africa myth, and strict physicality, then no, I don't have any.

this is what bothers me the most.

i've experienced supernatural things. i know that it exists, BUT it could be a condition of our physical existence and might not exist outside that paradigm.

which makes the prospect of oblivion even MORE horrifying, knowing this world is magical and more wonderous than we often stop and think about, and to die is to lose it all forever, the mystery, the magic, the wonder, of our current life, forever

Only the ones Jesus kills with the 7 vials remain awake after they are in the grave. Everybody else sees death as being no longer than a single blink of their eyes. For most that will be like the 2nd group in Re:7. The 144,000 represent the whole of the people that will be alive for the 1,000 year reign.

Coming in a fire and brimstone kind of way:
2Th:1:6-10:
Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
And to you who are troubled rest with us,
when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God,
and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord,
and from the glory of his power;
When he shall come to be glorified in his saints,
and to be admired in all them that believe
(because our testimony among you was believed)
in that day.

Re:19:21:
And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse,
which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
Isa:65:12:
Therefore will I number you to the sword,
and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter:
because when I called,
ye did not answer;
when I spake,
ye did not hear;
but did evil before mine eyes,
and did choose that wherein I delighted not.
Isa:65:13-15:
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD,
Behold,
my servants shall eat,
but ye shall be hungry:
behold,
my servants shall drink,
but ye shall be thirsty:
behold,
my servants shall rejoice,
but ye shall be ashamed:
Behold,
my servants shall sing for joy of heart,
but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart,
and shall howl for vexation of spirit.
And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen:
for the Lord GOD shall slay thee,
and call his servants by another name:

When it is run as a business like the Money-changers were doing it is bull-shit. For an 'adult' Christian Theology is a 30 day course that never changes until Jesus returns. If you are a heathen rather then deluded Christian it is 3 1/2 days.

He also tackles Politicians and Bankers, pretty silent on those entities should a poll be taken of all the people that agree with his summation about the 'modern church'.

After death, your whole body begins to rot. In a couple months, only your bones are left and a couple years, only dust. The matter is recycled and will end up feeding plants which will eventually be fed to another living creature and the cycle is repeated.

There is nothing beyond that. There is only this life, this chance, this one opportunity. Don't waste it waiting for a possible reward. Make the difference now, now is the time you have.
 Quoting: MaybeTrollingUAgain

Wrong, it takes longer for a body to completely decompose. Depending on your latitude and climate, it could take anywhere from a couple of years to hundreds/thousands of years. There are still deceased bodies from 1700/1800s Arctic shipwrecks and voyages, almost intact in permafrost. Mammoth-flesh has been found in permafrost almost intact too. In Northern Europe we have to wait a minimum 20-30 years before a grave can be recycled, this has a lot to do with the corpses not decaying fast enough. In parts of Scandinavia and UK it is not unusual to find remains of corpses when "new" graves are dug. I remember a local case where someone found a skull sticking up from the grass. Imagine how long it took for it to travel up again.

So we definitely take longer to decompose than you imagine. Other than that, I agree with you. thumbs

You have heard that they have this thing called embalming?

When buried naturally - with no coffin or embalming - decomposition takes 8 to 12 years. Adding a coffin and/or embalming fluid can tack on additional years to the process, depending on the type of funerary box. The quickest route to decomposition is a burial at sea. Underwater, corpses decompose four times faster.

Hebrew 9:27

But now He has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of Himself. 27Just as man is appointed to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28so also Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await Him.

The object resembled a giant waterwheel lying on its side and rotating as it approached me and my vehicle. As it got closer, this didn’t take time, as we understand it. I saw that my first observation about its size was wildly inaccurate. It was more like the size of a small city. As it got closer still, I understood that all scale and distance estimates were meaningless. It was larger than what we think of as the world. As it approached me, I became aware of its power and significance. My mind interpreted this as being an up-close, giant-scale physical object.

Okay, now this part is particularly difficult to explain. As the object drew near to me, a kind of sensation came over my person and I knew exactly what this thing was. Not only that, but I knew everything that pertained to it, what it was, what it was doing, what it’s 'business' was with me, where and when I had seen it before, why I was seeing it now, and many many other things that I cannot now recall.

I had seen the object before I was born and I will see it again when I die. We all knew it before we were born. We will all see it when we die. But this information is eclipsed from us while we are alive. And that was why I was seeing it now in the experience, because I was in the process of dying in a fatal car crash.

Here’s what I can remember, as best it words can tell. This wheel wasn’t something that moved towards me through the world, or through reality somehow. That was an illusion that my senses were constructing for me. The wheel WAS reality, itself. It represented EVERY CONCEIVABLE POSSIBILITY for a life or for a world that could ever be envisioned or imagined. As it approached, I became aware that what we call our world was contained within it. It was simply one of the numberless slots or paddles in the 'water wheel.' It had always been so. My life, your life, our world, all of us - we were a part of this wheel structure and we had always been a part of this structure. It simply now made itself visible to me...
