That is Haight street. The hippy gangsters regulate. China town and haight street are the two places you cant shit on the street or shoot up openly in sf. I know because i lived it, until very recently.

Look, the cops wont do shit and they wont pay to hospitalize them. Two neighborhoods kick the shit out of them so kids can go to the park and they dont have to smell bum poo all day. They can go anywhere else in the city, just not there. Not like that.

Hell, I'd probably whip out the phone if I saw some naked dude taking a dump on the sidewalk. Not something you see every day (or ever) around these parts. I would guess a tourist since San Franciscans are used to it.

And there are varying levels of crazy. Maybe he's crazy enough to go around naked shitting on sidewalks but not quite crazy enough to do it in traffic. Maybe that's just where the urge struck him. Why, if "He knew what he was doing," would the middle of the street seem like a more appropriate place? Why not on a car? Why not on someone's shoe? Who knows? Dude's crazy.
