$8 billion seems excessive.

You should realize this is all about lawyers getting paid since the lawyers deal will give them anywhere from one third to one half of the award. As always, this is a sop from the judge to his lawyer buddies. What about having to take the time out for the surgery? Or what about the pain and suffering of asking your wife for her bra? Dude! Time out for what? Time out from being a retard and unmanagable autistic to the point of needing medication to make them managable? Are you on drugs?
