So I'd assume it's in Putin's interest to provide at least some at some point since that way Russian influence grows. Same as with Assad. Assad wouldn't be in power without Russian aid. So asking if he's for or against, well, it's somewhat more complicated but mostly he's for this since people who aren't allied to USA anymore need some other allies. ...

Why would these Kurds be petitioning to the NO. 1 terrorist state in the region? And an Islamic Republic at that!?!? Everyone here says they are Christians. Kurds are not Christians but Sunni muslims for the most part as far as I know. Iran is Shia but that's not too important considering there's geopolitical influence to be gained. And Iran and Russia are allies in the middle east so I just put them there together.
