The people bending their logic to praise Trump's decision are ridiculous. I don't care if you're left, right, centre, or don't give a fuck. At the end of the day, the Kurds fought Islamic State. They fought them with the backing of the West. And now they've been abandoned.

A sad day indeed.

A great day for America. Promises kept by our POTUS. Call your PM or the queen and have them rescue the Kurds stat so you can feel good again.

How is it a great day for America? You a fan of terrorism? The Kurds were doing the West a favour by taking care of Islamic State without US and British boots on ground.

How many allies do you think the West has in the Middle East now? One less. Never a good thing.

Not at all a fan of terrorism. The USA being the main ground force for the gulf wars has its advantages and disadvantages to that respect. We got very few ME refugees from this war but we are also hated above all others in this world for it as well.

I never really bought into the group mentality of countries as allies. Especially when said allies take and take and take but never give all my life long.

In the future if the ME has something we need and we can buy it I am sure they will let us. I'd rather protect America at her borders like the rest of the privileged world gets to do. We have shit going on here at home in case you didn't notice...it may seem like a little communist problem to you but it's a big deal for us. tounge

I get that you have your own problems. But I guess I'm a little old school in my view that when you promise something, you deliver. The US made a deal, promising protection of the Kurds. They then reneged on that deal. I think that makes America look weak. Which is a shame, because even though you might support domestic agendas only, as a UK citizen, I always quite liked the idea of the US being this great superpower who policed the world.

I guess I hoped that that they could be the moral truth in an increasingly chaotic world. Instead, they're taking a backseat under Trump.

Turning on Allies is not a good look, no matter the president.
