Is there anyplace in the US for older women who want to live together? I read an article recently about "tiny home neighborhoods" you might be interested in. The homes are around 450 sq. ft. in a neighborhood setting. If I can find again it I'll post it. A Google search will produce lots of info, but here's a current list of communities: [link to tinyhousetalk.com (secure)] Last Edited by Avenger1 on 10/11/2019 12:12 PM "Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes" "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear" |

Is there anyplace in the US for older women who want to live together? I saw a blip about vacation spots where all the guests share a room, have all meals family style and recreation together. I would like to find spots like that in the US for fun social contact some times. I live alone and like it, but not all the time. The living situation for single mature women like you want sounds like a great idea for many. You would avoid so much of the BS in the world. |

Is there anyplace in the US for older women who want to live together? There’s a directory: ic.org, that is a directory for intentional communities. We have a nearby eco village that is not exclusively women, but folks who live in the buildings that were purchased by the eco village pay much less in rent than standard, market rate units, and the members get together for Sunday potluck. They have residents who grow food, and there is a bicycle loan/repair shop on premises. |

Is there anyplace in the US for older women who want to live together? There are all kinds! Google "intentional communities women retirement" and see what comes up. The problem is that some are run like traditional retirement communities that want you to buy in and then they tell you what to do for the rest of your life. I'd be sure to have a lawyer look over any contracts so that if you change your mind you can get out. It might also be worthwhile posting to your senior center or a senior center near where you would like to live and seeing if there are any other women out there interested in sharing some land. At least then you would be in control. My husband and I bought a small acreage so that we can have two sets of friends live on the same property and then we can all help each other as we age. We may share a live-in caretaker or nurse at some point--we have a cabin they could live in rent-free in exchange for chores or some nursing duties. But there's no way I'm going to bankrupt my family by going into a nursing home. I lived through that with my deceased husband who died mid-40s after a long, debilitating bout with ALS that cost us everything. |

Is there anyplace in the US for older women who want to live together? At age 59, I've been through enough to know that I don't want to live alone. I was living with my brother for a time, but he's now getting married, so I gots to go. Prior to that, I lived in a beautiful house with my husband, but he died, and it's been a rough few years. Quoting: Hope_Full I've looked at retirement communities but so many of those have houses that start at $300,000 with 2,000+ square feet. I'm looking for something that's affordable and manageable. I'd love to live in a commune-like environment, where we each have our own private living space, but come together for meals and maybe watching television or having parties. Is there anything like that in the United States? Thanks in advance. try intentional communities . org go-to the map section. do your research. good luck |

Look into retirement communities in Green Valley and Sun City Arizona--lots of small condos as buyers tend to die off fast (lots of turn over) and lots of community stuff for older women as most have nagged or worked their husband into an early grave. |

I would rather live alone than with a group of self-centered old bitches who brag and complain all of the time. maybe old black bitches more your taste OP, I hope you find what you are looking for.
