Here is some more info on the murderer. Apparently he attended one semester at Univ of Wisconsin in Madison 6 years ago but no info on what he's been doing for work, or anything else, since. Interesting that he was listed as MISSING in 2017. "May be in need of medication - mental case?"

Eliyas wrote on Facebook that he was single and was a “POSSE Scholar UW-Madison.” Aregahegne wrote, “18 y/o, Aries🐏. Ethiopian. UW-Madison Class of 2017.” Heavy contacted the UW-Madison PR office and learned that Aregahegne was briefly a student at Madison but not in 2017 as he wrote.
“Our records indicate he was enrolled at UW for one semester, in fall 2013,” Meredith McGlone, director of News and Media Relations for the University of Wisconsin-Madison, told Heavy.

The Metropolitan Police Department of Washington D.C. wrote on Twitter in 2017, “#MissingPerson Eliyas Wendale Aregahegne, 22, last seen 7/15 in 3000 b/o 14th St, NW. Seen him? Call 202-727-9099 or text 50411.”

The police also shared a missing person’s poster. “He was last seen wearing a black jacket and black pants. Eliyas may be in need of medication,” the poster says.

Things were going differently for Aregahegne once. He posted photos on Instagram of himself in a 2013 graduation cap and gown and of a mentoring certificate. If nothing else, this case would again argue AGAINST the refugee program that seems to have brought in a lot of negative and violent people.

I'm trying to find out more about him, but the last formal things about him seem to be the semester at college in 2013, and then a missing person report in 2017. He's like the invisible man. How was he living? with who? how could he afford to live in DC?
