Right after the disaster, when cesium, the very worst radiation of all, was making its way to our coast, we received no warning whatever. As I said in another post, a friend and I and my little dog were on the beach almost every evening right after that, and often took home items that had arrived via wave and tidal action from Japan. We had no idea the danger we were in.

This, the bags, will likely receive little to no publicity here, at least not until it's too late, and people have investigated the bags, taken home any "treasures" found, and endangered themselves again.

The Pacific ocean is huge. just because we can measure radiation doesn’t mean it has any effect on the environment. You get far more radiation in a plane trip, or a trip to Lake Tahoe, or living in a brick house, or a dental x-ray.
