Remotely controlled machinery has begun removing 88 tonnes of spent nuclear fuel from the heavily damaged number three reactors at the plant. [ link to www.bbc.com (secure)] more than than the bags went everywhere , watch video It is staggering on the amount of cleanup they are doing which they say will take years. Sad I remember when the nuke heads said that nuke power will be dirt cheap and safe. It has turned out to be neither. When something goes wrong, how much have they spent on cleanup? Probably would have been cheaper building a million solar panels to the sky at an angle.
