"The islands remaining bloody" refers to the sea battles that will be going on around the islands. Meanwhile the islands are asking for protection from the United States, and the president is slow to react. So in desperation some of the leaders of the islands reveal some of the goings-on that involve the American president, in a way that will get him into trouble as Watergate did Nixon.He says every leader has secrets that could get them into that kind of trouble. It's just a matter of keeping the secrets hidden.
D: I didn't realize they were going to come that close to our continent.
B: He says it won't be forces directly under the Anti-Christ but other aggressive countries taking advantage of the upset of the balance of world powers.

When I was preparing this book for printing, I was amazed at the similarity between this prediction and what was then (in 1989) occurring in Panama and Central America. I believe the American President referred to as "the slow one" could rightfully describe George Bush. The news media have continually made reference to his hesitancy to react to aggressive situations. Also during the Panama invasion there was rumors that secrets might be revealed about him. This quatrain could mean that we are not finished with troubles in our own back yard involving the countries and islands in the Caribbean.

However, there will be comets falling which will denote the onset of this event. This would be a display of many, many falling stars during the Time of Troubles. I was just commenting on the faux values expressed by the EU where they use self-determination as a justification for supporting destabilization abroad while they don't have the same value when its in their own backyard. They are trying to bring punitive measures against the UK for wishing to leave the EU and they throw their weight behind any suppression of separatist movements within the EU (Except they will probably support the Scottish referendum because it benefits them). You would think that the EU would be supporting Catanlonian independence, but that would be pretending they actually believe the values they extol.

We sometimes forget in our interconnected world how much really remains ... very local.

Europe can have a lot to gain by being open and interconnected, but local identity cannot be sacrificed.

A balance has to be found between a larger economic union and local identities, without having to resort to violence to assert one's rights: autonomy, identity, independence, interaction, investment, individual AND common goals.

Well that's shit, you near the action?

Balance and maintaining connections while also maintaining sovereignty and identity are vital..

However.... it's not possible with current human nature and politics. The second anyone gets a whiff of power they will always seek to take more. There can be no happy and fair unions, only predatory and leech based ones.
