Thoughts prayers needed for my Mom

It can sometimes become easy to lash out at loved ones whose needs really tax us. I'm glad you checked upon her and found her okay.

^^^This. Praying for your mom and for you to have the strength to deal with it. As Louis said, being a caregiver can be very taxing at times.

My mom hurls insults at me like I'm my father (who she hates).
She just drove 2k miles because I woke up in pain the other day.
She's horribly mean to people who call her a friend and none of my other siblings will speak to her.
She wont even admit there's a problem she needs meds for. I have deemed it boomerang syndrome. Most boomers have it or get it. I pray she loses it, in death or life. T
Most were raised in Catholic institutions of "learning". Hell is what they learn. How to make everyone feel hell.

I don't do anything besides pray any longer. Nothing. I make sure she has plenty of foods she likes and encourage her to go to a doctor and invite her to church. Nothing else I can do or she will kill my soul too.

pray..it's so difficult to separate from the emotions of her being your mom treating you poorly, and her needing medical care..

talk to her like she is the child and you are taking care of her... ignore her anger...don't engage.. it helps...

Thanks everyone!!!! I will remember this, and next time I get frustrated will not take my anger out on her. I do love her so much, however it is super taxing being the protector (when it is generally the other way around)

She has had schizophrenia since I was a child. It was frightening to me at times. Now that I'm older, I do my best to take care of her. My grandparents died a couple years ago, they always cared for her, but kinda made her co-dependent.

I'm talking to her on the phone now, she really is the kindest sweetest person. I hate that her brain hijacks itself.
