It says to fill it out after checking into a pick up location, then someone else will take the first page of the form and "fetch" my child. Schools a bit out of our area have been running emergency dismissal drills, but I haven't heard anything about ones in our district participating in them. I looked it up and it seems like reunification is something done after a serious emergency, such as a shooting. There are FEMA sites with advice on how to make it go smoothly and our state has a few PDFs available about how plans are required for those types of situations, but I haven't found anything where the forms were sent home prior to a drill. I don't think it's DCS related--surely they wouldn't have dismissed him to me today if it was, and at the very least a case worker would have come to my house. Quoting: Paranoiaaaaa I'm planning on it, the first page is basically just child's name/grade/phone number and the designated pick up person's information. Exactly. I'm considering keeping them all home tomorrow. "Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth." |

User ID: 74455680 United States 10/15/2019 10:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is nothing nefarious. I'm not really sure why they sent it home with no other information though. An explanation of what the form is, how it should be completed and what documents you should have to accompany this form would have been nice and would dispel any concerns parents may have. This is a typical Reunification form that would be used in the event that a major event happened at your childs school. This could be anything, earthquake, tornado, HazMat spill, etc. Especially one that may have required the students to relocate. They probably sent this home in an effort to have parents be more prepared, that way you can have the form completed and have the necessary documents (drivers license/ID, whatever) along with it in order to streamline the process of reunifying you with your child. Not having these things ready will cause added delay and increasing stress on everyone involved. One has to take into account that there are many children that have lists of people that are prohibited from picking them up, ie non-custodial parents, abusers, etc. Look at this as basically another prep in the event of emergency. |

Only one of three children brought a form home (the youngest). No information provided from the teacher. I thought maybe it was for a drill, but then why would they send it home when it's something meant to be filled out at the time of an emergency? I've never seen one of these before. My son says everyone in his class got a blue paper to take home. Maybe the aliens need more info on you. They like to keep an inventory of the herd for many sick and twisted reasons that you don't want to know about. |
