My source says what happens is in a GSM (grand solar minimum) is the winter months begin to extend outward, i.e. winter starts in November, ends in April....BUT, in the case of a little ice age, the frost line moves MEASURABLY FURTHER SOUTH, year by year, along with the extended start & end dates of "Winter".

Get a FREEZER and start stocking up on beef, pork, & chicken, GET A VACUUM-SEALING Unit for items you can store outside in the cold, etc. Get a FREEZE-DRYING UNIT for anything applicable, esp grains, rice, dried veggies, fruits, etc. DO IT NOW WHILE THESE UNITS ARE STILL IN STOCK!

We use a freezer during winter just to keep critters out of things. Haven't met a cat or weasel that can lift the lid. When it's twenty below leave your freezables in the shed and don't even plug it in for months. I have also used my truck tool box to store frozen food.

Great thing about power outages back in boston during the winter.

You store food outside so it doesnt go bad. Tie your cooler to a tree and hoist it up if you live where there are coyote.

Freezers will be useless as will prwcious metal. You cant eat either of them.
