Former Vice President Joe Biden appeared to stumble over his words while discussing the economy and taxes on Tuesday night.
"Why should someone who's clipping coupons in the stock market may, in fact, pay a lower tax rate than someone who in fact is, like I said, a schoolteacher and a fireman? Why should someone with massive investments , who probably inherited the money, pay a lower tax rate than someone that's working for a living? In days gone bye, low risk, low interest bonds had coupons that could be clipped and redeemed(as interest) as the owner wanted money. They were printed on the bond paper and were cut off with scissors to be redeemed. This is like 100 to 150 years ago. I'm pretty sure they no longer make bonds like that.
