Guys, with the way things are going...with the incremental pick, pick, picking at our liberties and gun rights...a tiny restriction here, a ban on bumpstocks (that a lot of you stupies here on GLP said was okay because 'ooh they're dumb and a waste of ammo who caaares') there...and now open talks by mainstream politicians in support of flat out confiscation...

...What is it going to look like in five years? Ten? Even with so-called conservatives and self-claimed second-amendment supporters we're losing our rights little by little, and those little concessions add up until one morning you wake up and wonder where the hell your right to bare arms went. But that's just if we have the 'good guys' in power. The dems will be in control of the senate and house and the presidency again, sooner or later. And they've made it clear what they want to do.

I think the right to bare arms isn't long for this world. Do any of you really think we'll be able to by, say, an AR-15 or a semi-auto AK variant in twenty years? And in fifty, will we even still be able to get ANY centerfire rifle, even a bolt action? In order to keep our rights long term we'd need a very drastic, very dramatic shift in public perception and we'll need it fast.

I think it's about time each of us need to seriously think about what we're each going to do a few years down the line when we see the announcement that if you or I don't surrender a specific piece of property within 90 days that we will be considered felons subject to ten years in a penitentiary.

And don't be naive and think the government doesn't know what each and every one of us has.

You guys seen the LVMPD police report on Paddock? They listed each of his firearms, where it was born and that he was the original purchaser of each, going back to the mid 1980's. Using the serial number on the firearm they could go back 30 years and see where it was purchased, when, and by whom. They found these records on EVERY ONE of his firearms. The dozens in the hotel room and the handfuls at different properties. They didn't come up empty on a single one. So I call bullshit on the claim that the feds do not keep records, for decades or longer, of EVERY firearm purchased through an FFL.

It was terrifying when I saw this list on the police report. I never thought they kept their word about not keeping NICS transactions, but that they could go back to 1986 and shit? God damn.

So regardless of what you think, unless the stuff you own was bought in a private sale (from somebody who hopefully got THAT in a private sale) they know what ya got. 100%. So if your plan was to keep it in your closet under your coats, you need a new plan.
