Two words - Cold Steel.

[link to www.coldsteel.com (secure)]

"With a durable sub-zero cryo-quenched German 4116 Stainless Steel clip point blade that is a full 1" wide and 5" long, it’s versatile enough to meet the demands of almost any survival situation. The hollow handle is made from the highest-grade Polypropylene available, and has an integral double quillon guard that serves to protect the fingers as well as making it possible to lash the handle to a stick to make an improvised spear. Plus, a twist of the waterproof cap reveals a large hollow handle that accommodates a generous survival kit! Finally, the Survival Edge comes complete with a weatherproof and super-light Secure-Ex sheath, and high-grade Ferrocerium fire steel."

Jedediah Eckert is my gamer handle. People these days don't know what it was like growing up in the cold war. I had full feature length dreams long before Red Dawn came out and when I first saw it I swore someone entered my dreams and put them on the big screen.

I caught three Yellow Perch. I used JB weld on the handle as it got loose.

FUCKYEAH!!!

Wish I still had mine...

Way better now, but would be cool to have.

 Quoting: WyatteSmith

I had one of those, but that was cheap and broke on me...

I tried throwing it at a tree, like in the commercial, and the compass broke.

I than removed the compass and tried throwing it again, this time it bent the hallow screw-on head on the handle for the compass, making screwing on the compass impossible.

I then continued throwing the knife at the tree and then the whole blade broke off! It wasn’t a full tang through the pummel. I had to place the blade back into the hallow handle and pour a full bottle of glue down the handle to make the knife stay in place.

The free sharpening stone wore down really quick too.

POS but memories none the less.

hahaha They still haven't changed much [link to www.amazon.com (secure)]

I always wondered why no reputable knife company never made a serious actual survival kit knife . Perhaps a full tange solid stock forged blade and handle made of like I donnu s30v or atleast 1095carbon steel ??

Gen X alone would be snatching those bad boys up for nothing more than nostalgic value . Throw braided line , good hook , 100ft strand of 550 paracord , fero rod .

Boyyyyy snatch'em up like hotcakes .

I've had two of them, I bought the first one about 1981 or so.. the steel was brittle on those blades and I dropped it one winter hacking up firewood, it landed on a large rock and snapped the tip off.

Buck warrantied it and sent another which I used for several years While I served in the ARMY.. As I said the blades were brittle and one night i landed on it during an airborne insertion and the blade broke off at the tang / guard junction.

The M-9 bayonets were practically the same knife and they ended up having the same issues.

Ya know , thats been my experience with every buck knife I ever owned except a Buck 199 Pilot .

buck blades snap the tip . Period. I really wanted one of those new Buck 110 in CPM-s30v but didnt wanna spend that money on a tip that was probably going to break .

I remember this knife very well. My friend who had one called it the Rambo knife. I think they took advantage of the Rambo movies with this one.

I bought a “full auto” BB gun out of the back of SOF magazine. You attached a can of R12 Freon to the bottom for the pressure and it sprayed BBs out (barely). The global warming fa$$ots would lose their minds now watching refrigerant being sprayed out like that.

Just what you need to orient yourself in the woods to discover you are hopelessly lost and be able to slit your wrists in despair. Its the perfect gift for that Antifa teen on the Christmas list!
Gen. John B Gordon and Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest were the finest citizen-soldiers birthed in America.
