Op what is the name of your God?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78059705

These are ALL from the "infallible" KJV.

Exodus 6:3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

Psalm 83:18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

Here's a couple of tidbits from Isaiah.

Isaiah 12:2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

Isaiah 26:4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.

Thread: ONE Gospel - FROM God - THRU Jesus - Taught by ALL of the Apostles - NOT Just Paul - Bible Study

And to prove my point further, look at the names of the places given in these verses.

Genesis 22:14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

Exodus 17:15 And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovah-nissi:

Judges 6:24 Then Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovah-shalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.

Abraham, Moses and Gideon ALL KNEW the Father's name.

These are the statements that Jesus made which show His subserviance and obedience to the Father.

...the Father is GREATER than I. John 14:28 & John 10:29

14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

...I do ONLY the Father's Will. John 6:37-39

37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

...I PRAY to the Father. Matthew 26:36-42, Mark 14:32-39 & John 17

Matthew 26:36-42

36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

Mark 14:32-39

32 And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.
33 And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;
34 And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.
35 And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.
36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.
37 And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?
38 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.
39 And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words.

The part that you can't seem to get, is "the Father of God".

Read Hebrews 1, where the Father refers to the Son, as God.

"the Father refers to"?

Hebrews 1 IS NOT "thus saith the LORD".
The verse is actually a quote of a Psalm 45 verse.

How about what Jesus said?

Jesus has a God - the Father. It's NOT Himself.

John 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not;

for I am not yet ascended to my Father:

but go to my brethren, and say unto them,

I ascend unto my Father, and your Father;

and to my God, and your God.

.....

Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus

cried with a loud voice, saying,

Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say,

My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

.....

John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world,

that he gave his only begotten Son,

that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,

but have everlasting life.

Re: Jesus and the Apostles - 400 Verses That Reference Either The Father or His SON - Son of God
This OP is demon possessed. He is driven by the spirit of antichrist which compels him to spend a lot of time trying to convince people that Christ is not God, but merely some kind of apparent created being or "turbo-angel" of sorts, like the nope's believe.

The scriptures are crystal clear, that angels and people worship God the Son, at the behest of God the Father. There's plenty of evidence in scripture that Yeshua was/is God. I can provide dozens of verses that bear this out. But I've already wasted too much time witnessing to a demon possessed clown that actually believe that he is no longer a sinner, and has earned his salvation by works and performance.

So here's just a single verse that says it all:

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness. God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." 1st Timothy 3:16

Where is the phrase "God the Son" in the Bible?

IT's NOT THERE.

You want to quote Paul...try this one for size.

Ephesians 1:17 That the God of

our Lord Jesus Christ,

the Father of glory,

may give unto you the spirit of wisdom
and revelation in the knowledge of him:

...

Here's a bit of history and a "theory" ?!?

The filioque was added to the Nicene Creed at the Council of Toledo in 589. It was basically the FULL beginning of the "God the Son" trinity.

[link to episcopalchurch.org (secure)]

Guess what Christian "teaching" is MOST despised by Muslims?

The "trinity".

Ironic too that Islam was started just a few decades AFTER the Council of Trent made the filioque change.

What are the odds that Father God actually SENT Gabriel to Muhammed to keep the "Jesus is God" nonsense in check?

No...he's not. You might though, 'specially if you've been insulting Abaddon:

And My Cross shall advance before Me, like a symbol of sovereignty before a king, according to what I have said unto you, "The Son of Man shall come in His glory, and with that which is of His Father, and all His angels with Him." I will command My chief Archangel, the holy Michael, and he shall blow a blast on his trumpet in the Valley of Jehosaphat, that those who are dead may arise incorruptible, and there shall not remain upon the earth one soul that shall not rise up, from Adam the first man even unto the last man that shall be born into the world. And they all shall rise up in the Valley of Jehosaphat, so that each one may receive in his body according to what he hath done, whether it be good or whether it be evil. And they shall stand [there] in fear and trembling awaiting the Spirit of My Father.

And straightway all the saints shall rush forward towards them, and each one shall seize upon those that belong to him. All those who have shewn love to you upon earth shall be brought back to the others who are on the right hand. Then shall the others cry out with loud wailings, and tears, and with suffering and sorrow of the heart, saying, "O Lord the Merciful One, the Son of the Merciful One, shew mercy upon us." Thereupon straightway shall the Son of God shed tears over them, and He shall say unto them, " My word remaineth with My Father."

'And straightway My Father shall shut the door of heaven, and go His way. And I shall say to them straightway, "My Father doth not desire to shew mercy upon you." And they shall cry out the more, saying, "Have mercy upon us, for the Devil would not permit us to repent. If we had known that these things were to be we should have repented even unto the shedding of blood." And forthwith I shall utter curses upon Satan that day, and I will make them to seize him, and to fetter him in the bonds which cannot be broken, and I will curse that lying prophet who hath led astray all the nations, and Antichrist, the son of perdition, and they shall cast them into the Lake of Fire which bumeth with fire and sulphur, together with all those who have been their followers in the world, and they shall never enjoy repose, day or night. Their worm shall not die, and their fire shall not be quenched.
