Or their somewhat softer versions in Europe and its EU. Or the US and its Obamas/Clintons/Comeys/Brennans/Schiffs/Strozks/Soros/Zuckerb​ergs/Bezos.

Hard left or soft left, a lot of times the variations are distinctions without much or any differences.

The latter 40s, 50s, and most of the 60s was when America was great! Those who never lived it will never know how great America was and why Trump is trying to restore that freedom, that greatness.

We never questioned our freedom because there was no reason to. We never, EVER, would have thought it would never be there for us to enjoy.

Life was enjoyable back then. People were nice to each other and always willing to lend a helping hand when needed with anyone who needed it, even strangers.

As children we were taught manners. Parents were our parents, not our friends. When we did wrong, we were punished and usually learned our lesson, especially when discipline began when young. It gave us boundaries.

We were taught right from wrong.

We had chores at home for which we earned a weekly allowance. It taught us the value of earning our own money and to become self-sufficient.

We Boomers aren't so much hated by the young as much as envied for our lifestyle, never realizing that we earned every penny of it, beginning when we were children.

Unethical behavior goes back to the age of, for example, Caligula. Nothing new under the sun.

But a society's tolerance for a lack of ethics (hi, Hillary fans!) goes through up-and-down phases.

If you wanted to make a phone call while out of the house, you had to find a phone booth. Then you had to have pocket change on you. If you didn't, you had to find someone who had the correct change. Payphone calls were 10 cents, then 25 cents, but remember, minimum wage was 75 cents.

At home, we had a "partyline." That meant someone in your neighborhood shared the phone line with you. If you picked the phone up to make a call, and they were talking, you could wait an hour until they were done....or....you could listen to what they were saying.

I still remember having to meet someone in the city. If they weren't at the place you planned to meet, you could wait 15 minutes or an hour and wonder where they were. They couldn't call you, and you couldn't call them to ask if they were still coming. Also, I can't recall how many times I waited, or they waited, outside at an airport in a car. Was their flight delayed/late? Cancelled? Where are they waiting? What part of the airport?

I also remember shopping! ARGH! You went from one store to another to see if they had the dress in your size, or the products you needed. Now...check it online and order it online. So easy!

If there was news, you might be lucky to hear it on the radio, otherwise, you waited until you could read the details in the newspaper....maybe a week or so. In school, we had disaster drills. "The Russians were coming to bomb our cities." You read it in the newspapers. As a child, it was frightening! It was like that throughout my school years! The radiation from the bombs would be horrific. We were all going to die!

A product of our current society. People in the 50s knew how to discuss differences without the anger and cursing.

Things in society were better then.
Yes things in government and media were controlled. But less then they are today. The masses got along much better then.

Because they were sharp. People were basically good to each other, ready to lend a helping hand if needed. People were happy in those days.
