Found a big ass bag of quarters outside a laundromat and no one around. Still I found owner and returned it. I did consider stealing it though.

Yes,found a purse during the day light and checked it out.The older woman had 100 grand in there...honestly,she gave me 20 and an apple pie

When I was about 17 I was walking home from work, I seen this brown bag under a tree, it was just sitting close to the tree, the top was rolled down. So I wondered what could be in the bag, I go over and slowly open it, as I did I seen money, I grabbed the bag and ran home, I knew there was a good amount because the bag was almost full to the top and when I opened it I saw 100s, 50s

I get home empty it on my bed and counted, 15,000 dollars

I wasn't about to just give it to the police and let them spend it lol

Told my dad, gave him a 1000 to pay off his car, he made good money so he didnt meed any money, I just wanted to help him get out from the car payments

I went and bought a nice Z28, I bought some clothes, shoes, spent some to party, put around 6000 in bank

The only time I found money that I was able to turn in was when I worked at Walmart. Found a purse in a cart, opened it to check Id,there was a good amount of cash in there, Didnt Count it, turned it in to lost and found

walking behind a japanese guy at a casino nightclub... he dropped his walled and i gave it back...

he was loaded... gave me $500 on the spot for giving it back to him...

i would return it to my newly opened offshore account

I found five dollars in the parking lot of home depot several weeks ago and kept it. Many years ago I found much more than that in the same parking lot and gave it to the store. I followed up on my find and they claimed they never received money turned in by me. I lost my trust in people doing the right thing.

My housemate and I found a ladies purse in a shopping cart at the mini mall recently. We tried to flag her down but she didn’t see us apparently.
So we took it back to the store where she just finished shopping from and gave the bag to the cashier.
Hopefully she got it back. :)

As far as the bag of money even if you did try to find the owner of the plain brown bag there would no doubt be a waiting line claiming it was theirs.

Found a few wallets and purses while I was living/working in Vegas. Gave them to the first security person I could find

When I was a young lad I found a wallet with about $700 in it -- this was circa 1959. There was a driver's license with an address. So I made sure it was returned to the owner who had recently been discharged from the U.S. Navy.

IIRC, I received a $35 reward which was a lot of money back in the day.

I found a ladies bag, it had an envelope in it marked with a dude's name, had a huge sum if money that I never counted, call the number inside the purse and turned out the phone was in the bag. So, called the police. Left them my details and advise if lady calls them to give my number. Twenty minutes later she calls, I return it. She goes to give me money as a thanks which I refused and told her to be more careful as not a lot of honest people around these days.

$35 dollars even today would be a lot of money for a youngster.

A few months back I found a 20 on the floor at WalMart,,,I was hesitant to turn it in, not because I wanted it but did not think the owner would every recover it.

So, I found the store manager who looked shady but I was committed and guilt ed him into making sure HE did nt steal it.

He said if no one claims it the money is put into a charity fund they supposedly have...

I m sure someone missed that twenty and would at least try and see if someone turned it in, I hope they did or hope the manager did nt pocket it.

Yes and no. When I didn't, karma broke both my both ankles a week later. Never pulled that stunt again. Karma watches me like a hawk.

I found $20 in an atm. I returned it to a bank teller and was rewarded by having to fill out a large sequence of forms. Grrrrrr

When I was little, I found a bucket of tokens under a booth at Chuck E Cheese. I kept that shit and was in heaven for a while.
