I didn't watch the video, but I agree with the description of what's happening.

There is a Kurdistan (part of Iraq) that has been quite successful, all things considered. The Kurds went into Syria. True, they've been instrumental in squashing ISIS/ISIL/Daesh, however they do have a home to return to.

That region has a ton of immigrants from Syria. It's hard to imagine who could be left. People with resources got out early on and the population has to be, well, not many.

The "safe zone" is part of what Turkey wants to establish and part of the deal. That way, Syrians can return home and start to rebuild their lives - and the country. It's absurd to not let that happen.

The alternative would be Turkey opening the gates. It's not quite winter yet, and the Mediterranean is relatively safe for travel.

I had supported Trump through this idiotic impeachment witch hunt, but between his totally ignorant remarks about Turkey and Syria, and his firing of Bolton, I realize he really IS dumb on so many subjects. He was interviewed on O'Reilly many times when he was running for President - one interview stands out in my mind...about Syria...he really had no clue what was going on there. Knew less than the average American even.

Kurds are no angels. Just look at their actions against the Christians of Hassake in September, 2016 - about the same time that they entered into a non-agression pact with ISIS in that region.
