Ontario and Quebec have massive populations and those two provinces always determines the outcome of Canadian elections. The prairie provinces all voted conservative. It's all going to come down to how stupid the NDP is. If the NDP supports the Liberals, it will be like Justin has another majority government, but that's bad for the future of the NDP.

NDP had their best ever showing three elections ago, bumping the Liberals down to third place and becoming the official opposition. Then Jack Layton died before he could even sit one day as leader of the official opposition, and the NDP elected the worst possible leader to replace him. In 2015 they lost all the ground gained in the previous election and they turned around and elected the worst possible leader to take them into an election. Last night they lost even more ground, falling to 4th place. The liberals need them to get anything done, and if the NDP is too willing to vote with the Liberals, it will only further erode their support. If they are smart, they will allow their MPs to vote their conscience instead of following the leader and party line, making the liberals have to work hard for enough support to keep the government in power but the current lot of NDP MPs are probably not that smart. A lot of saner NDP MPs did not run for re election. Jagmeet made a huge mistake saying his party would back a liberal minority government to keep the conservatives away. He basically admitted a vote for NDP was a vote for Justin.

Even if the Bloq sides with the conservatives, which isn't likely, there wouldn't be enough votes to bring down a Liberal party supported by NDP.

I give it 2 years and we are back at the polls.
