It was and still is all bullshit. |

A quick search shows that over 3,000,000,000 (yes, 3 billion) people have had the polio vaccine in the last 10 years. So let’s say on average that’s 300,000,000 per year. So 37 cases of polio recorded, that gives you a 37/300,000,000 chance of getting it, or 0.000012% chance. While true those cases can be traced back to a vaccination, saying the vaccine “causes” polio is highly misleading. The people who got polio received the oral vaccine which contains a live, but “weakened” virus, not the shot which is made with inactive (dead) virus. The injectable vaccine is much more expensive than oral, which is why these 3rd world countries are still using the oral vaccine. The oral vaccine is supposed to be phased out by 2020. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 74285733 United States 10/25/2019 08:32 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | And it’s clearly not bullshit, how many cases of polio do you see in the US these days? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77746543 Are you suggesting the disease just went away on its own? During the 50s polio scare, the condition diagnosed as polio was actually bacterial meningitis. Penicillin became widely used as the treatment most effective for meningitis and the polio vaccine ineffective. Meningitis was essentially eradicated during that time and since there was confusion on what the actual disease was...the government and doctors attributed the "cure for polio" to be the "miraculous drug" after changing the definition of the disease... There were two different strains of polio vaccine. The Salk vaccine and the Sabin vaccine... A contaminated strain of the vaccine caused 40,000 cases of polio. It is detailed here in the infamous "Cutter Incident." [link to www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov (secure)] |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77746543 Are you suggesting the disease just went away on its own? My Mom cried when she found out that her kids were going to be vaccinated for polio. What a wonderful gift. I know of no one who got polio after the vaccinations. This after the Cutter Labs were deleted from the process. I also rejoice in smallpox vaccinations especially since I have Native ancestry. Certainly more than E. Warren. (I'm at 12 1/2% verified by DNA). Last Edited by BilloutWest on 10/25/2019 08:45 AM |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 76578497 France 10/25/2019 08:57 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | vaccines do not work. there isnt a single fucking study proving the efficacy of vaccines, nor in humans or animals. Pandemic diseases follow a natural bell shape diffusion and go quiet for years or many decades respectively to then re explode with a sufficient mutaded dna to diffuse. for instance influenza virus has a long story of coexisting with humans updates every 4 years. Despite influenza has a positive effect on immune system a healthy person should not get it more than once every 4 years. Differently you may be immuno depressed. Hygiene, water and waste management and nutrition are the only effective way to control diffusion. |

If people research the history of epidemics they will find that with the improvement in hygiene, sanitation and lifestyle, diseases went away pretty much on their own. |
