The fire is now 8,730 acres!!!p37 I cannot take this, I really cannot, they just turned my power back on late last night and now it's going dark again today and these unnatural fierce winds are going to be at their worst where I am on a mountain top. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76130010 PG&E has not turned off the high voltage wires the really big ones which have been the culprits in all these fires primarily and I live near one to close for comfort. If it is them intentionally letting this happen, and hiring the random arsonists to stoke them like the dozen or so scattered odd fires in my area in the past 24 hours as some have suggested, I don't hold much hope. I am traumatized, my neighbors and business owners and beyond for miles and miles and miles. We here in California are being screwed with, feels like war against the people. It is war against the people. The question is-- who is waging it? Its clear that a prostitute was hired to start 2 fires near Corona a few days ago. Who is writing the checks? Don't lose heart-- or else they (whoever they are) will win. Every small rural CA town needs to buy at least 10-20 night vision wildlife cams ($39 at Dick's)-- positioned along the smaller roads outside town (in October.) Then you will be able to pinpoint the exact time of anyone who has driven late at night along small roads into the area about the time a fire started. With luck, you may be able to identify strange vehicles nearby the source of a small fire. I use these cams to find out the source of mice infestation and to monitor my property for rats. The night intelligence from the cameras makes it so much easier to eradicate the vermin,. |

Strange, "years" ago when that last wind event happened PG&E didn't shut off power to 5 million homes. Yet California didn't burn to the ground? Jedidiah Smith went over the rockies in 1842 but I suppose all of this depends on using a 25 year generation which may be unrealistic Thank you for your post! I am only 2nd Generation (Azorian) // we are farmers - and built levees on flood plains of Sacramento Delta region. Very rich soil - and we left after Department of water resources started creating trouble for us. My grandfather was concerned about levees failing (as they were constricted poorly - not built to last - DWR would not listen to farmers- so we sold out). It was a good run - and these "seasons" of wind and drought come every 10 years like clockwork. The trouble is we have cycles within cycles - this could be a 150 year cycle - or even a 5,000 year cycle - with VERY severe shiraco winds - not seen by our ancestors- (be well my friend) Last Edited by ruser on 10/30/2019 12:33 AM ruser |

My prayers to anyone affected, but "clearing brush" on a hill will only bring you landslides when it does rain. And nothing is going to stop the dry Santa Anas from blowing in from the desert. Pack up and be ready to evacuate quickly. Nothing can save your home if the fire rips through the area but you can sure save your own life. That sounds like an experienced mind and voice of reason to me. Thank you. Nature can be a bitch, some times gives us a major hit. Sounds like PGE is dammed if they do and dammed if they don't, with both hands tied. You can protect your home. THIN the brush. Better materials for your roof and siding. Less flammable plants around your structures. |

Why would a prostitute suddenly stop advertising her wares? Either she is locked up or she gets a steady income stream. I would bet that the massive upspike in 2017 had something to do with her and possible other members of the cell with the same sponsor. Fire terrorism is about the easiest and most hard to track form of terrorism that exists. They probably joked it was so easy even a ho could do it. |

Less flammable plants around your structures. Planting 10's of millions of eucalyptus trees in and around highly flammable chaparral scrub brush probably wasn't too swift an idea in hindsight either. Also clearing flammable brush and trees fire fuel at least from around power lines might be a good idea too. Not to be an advocate for PG&E, because they sound like a bunch of corrupt fucktards like just about everyone else running California now, but I heard today that they were bitching about not having enough money to do much more fire prevention and updates to lines, than the inadequate amount they have already done, because they are mandated to spend like 2 billion of their money on "Green Energy" projects. Hey, that gives me a green energy idea! put giant heat catcher balloons everywhere and light half the state on FIRE! then use that energy to blow heat pump windmills! |

If you live in or know anything about California history you’d know this is possible. I have several friends whose ancestors were bestowed Spanish land grants before Mexico existed. Correct. One was ancestor a great great great grandfather, was a british sea captain born in 1796, another a spaniard who came to northern shores, and yes a family land grant in the Santa Ynez Valley. |
