They have unity and cohesion, built through a strong shared narrative in their faith- The indigenous Englanders are fractured and disjointed culturally (by design).

The 'Globalists' who repeatedly apologize for Communism and cite prior attempts at that particular political model as "that wasn't 'REAL' Communism..." have come to the 'conclusion' that the defect of prior attempts was the elimination of religion as one of the operational principles- Human beings need a spiritual outlet to be happy/content. They are opting for the preexistent religious model which has the largest distribution, offers the most control with the least resistance offered by its adherents (most bang for the buck) and no one is more convicted and diluted than the strict Islamic- they will accept instant beheadment for what a Christian or Westerner would consider a minor offence (saying the wrong thing, drinking alcohol, or whatever is decided by the 'authority').

I think 'they' were trying real hard to create a new religion... but the effort was meeting with too much opposition by the widely accepted models (to include Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. along with the Western/Abrahamic religions).
