What makes people untrustworthy?

You are summing all the possible short circuits of the 4 or 5 primary emotions into iq?
I agree they resort because they can not solve another way, but its more than iq.

I know some intentionally evil, untrustworthy iq that means to be.

I know some dumb that wish they could figure out a way to cheat and feel more stupid for having a sense of personal conscience. I'll take those.

It's the person. People will die for what they think is good, over what they think is bad and some of them even when cornered. Lots of them for what they just can't seem to give up no matter what.

I only got that look, when she made me cupcakes. She never ate anything she cooked while here. I know she put apple seeds in my cupcakes which is why I asked about cyanide. Giving me that look and asking if I finished it. Seemed strange. I saw her and her husband taking out apple seeds from an apple. When I asked about, they said they were going to grow apples.

What makes people untrustworthy is when they lie or pretend to be something or someone they’re not.... I think we all know someone like this.

First time someone lies to me, I’m done with them. No second chances, you can never trust a liar. Liars tend to be psychopaths.


I have only trustworthy people in my inner circle.

They are the worst kind of people....or the kind that plays a terrible joke to hurt the person. Nasty people, no soul.

I've noticed (through experience) that people on drugs lie, and especially prior prison people. Young people lie until they figure it out later in life. If your over 40 and still lying then you've got issues.

Your brain is so much calmer when you always tell the truth. People who constantly lie have to remember their lies and this takes up a lot of RAM memory in the Brain Housing Group.

So I have one of these.

Last year, when I let my guard down, I let one into my sphere partially. This would not last as I have some level of discernment and recently saw "the real deal" and my response was to instantly drop the person like a hot potato. Once I recognized them for what they were. Yeah, I as not amused.

This was just a friend, not dating...nothing romantic. But the response is the same. "why aren't you calling?" "What did I do?" etc. etc.

What you did is be an untrustworthy and basically immoral person and I did not see that at first, but now I do.

If someone is a liar.. there's no low they won't stoop to.

I agree, and it does not mater if they had the best parents, best schools, best church, best teaching, best diet or what not. I think some were born that way with no way to prevent it.

Anyone close to you could be living a double secret life, your spouse, offspring, best friend, neighbor, anyone. Hear the stories about what people find out after some one close dies. It is not fiction.

Instead of being electrocuted as hitlers worst scientist of all, he is the reality that marxists live in and our lives are all continuously pelted with every effort to strip mankind of its dignity, intelligence, liberty and stunt human evolution, like box made freak kids in a gypsy show.
Because people have to be taught about dignity and liberty, posessing only the basic instincts to know herding and tyranny "something is not right about it" and as you have all seen, many so callow that all you have to add is the slightest hint of disapproval, and such creatures adapt to anything mindlessly.

What makes people trustworthy is thier own value in the equation. Some are very loyal and trustworthy, some will only act that way because they can't get ahold of a key, but they will fulfill it. Some because that is the dominating force they would like to see and any situation where they have skin in the game.

I think what makes people trustworthy is the extending of it by another and the recognition and acceptance ofthe terms by the other so that both have a good reason to uphold whatever terns of trustworthiness they engage in.

Their desire to achieve the better thing, by offering the better thing in exchange.

The appearance of any level of impropriety is rock solid evidence they will lie, cheat and steal anything from anyone the second their backs are turned.

Stanley Milgram’s experiments in the 1960s – in which ordinary volunteers followed a scientist’s instruction to give what they apparently thought was a deadly electric shock to another participant – have been taken by many to show our alarming propensity for blind obedience.
Milgram’s own interpretation, his “agentic state theory”, was that we readily give up our own sense of responsibility when following instructions from an authority figure.
However, his “obedience studies” have come in for recent criticism and re-interpretation (not that you’d know this from the textbooks).

The most prominent contemporary theory is that the studies don’t demonstrate blind obedience at all, but rather “engaged followership” – people’s willingness to do bad things when they see them as morally good because they serve a grander cause, in this case science.

Now Matthew Hollander at the University of Wisconsin, and Jason Turowetz at the University of Siegen, have conducted the first in-depth analysis of the interviews that many of the participants gave immediately after taking part in the now infamous research.

The new findings, published in the British Journal of Social Psychology, provide little evidence for engaged followership. Instead most of Milgram’s participants showed scepticism that anyone had been seriously harmed at all........
