We were woken up by a pack of coyotes just at the crack of dawn doing their calls. Scared the living hell out of her as she’d never heard such a racket and thought they were in our campsite and we were soon to be coyote excrement. The power and energy of nature with the woman you love is a perfect combination and I don’t believe I’ve ever had a more peaceful, content moment than that.

You could hear them very close every night. It was scary for a naive twenty something year old. Later I used to hear packs of them, like this video, in a big park behind my place (different state). Sometimes it can sound like a bunch of people laughing and partying.

Even in high density areas. I live out in rural area and hear a pack of 'em take down a deer all the time. Not much fun when you have one come up on you after dark. That's happened and I limit my time outdoors at night at my farm. And always have firearm on me when I do have to be outside after dark. And thought struggles against the results, trying to avoid those unpleasant results while keeping on with that way of thinking.
