Tanzania Safari! Have you ever been?
Seeing the Big Five is like a dream. Anyone ever been on a Tanzania safari in the Serengeti?

When I was in Tanzania, I went to Ngorongoro Crater and on a camel safari at the base of Mount Meru.

Only saw 4 of the big 5, missed seeing a leopard.

Cool. Ngorongoro looks awesome, but heard Serengeti is even better.

Wow, so you saw the endangered black rhino as well?!

Thanks for the tip. Wow, that Tanzania looks like one big National Park! Game reserves and conservation areas, all over the country. And huge ones at that!

Ruaha looks cool too:

Tanzania has a ban on plastic bags. Was very impressed with that. Most bans are BS, but plastic bags and packaging for that matter, really screw up our food chain and the environment.

I don't know what kind of rhino it was, black or white, just that I got to see one.

The buffalo, I got to see that one up really close and personal. I was with a group staying at a place with a bunch of cabins, walked outside my cabin door, and there was a buffalo standing right there in the middle of the camp, less than 10 feet away.

I knew the buffalo was dangerous and kept my distance. Some of the more ignorant tourists edged closer to it, like they thought it was just a glorified cow that they could pet or something. The local staff came out and saw it just in time before someone got gored and told everyone to get back.

I saw a lot of elephants. The most interesting encounters were a bull elephant blocking the road and challenging our vehicle (he won; we turned around and went the other way) and a group that circled their babies when they saw us (again, we backed off because they can be dangerous when protecting their young).

No interesting story regarding the lions. They were lounging around in the shade and looked at us like we were boring them. LOL!
