What did the Republicans think was going to happen?

Members from these districts could have faced tough re-elections this year, when Democrats are expected to be strong performers, potentially regaining control of the House."

BOTH of those districts turned blue last November as a direct result of what Paul Ryan and his NeverTrump comrades engineered in the House.

None of what's happening today would have been possible without them.

This bastard did more to hurt Trump and to advance the Congressional overthrow of the Presidency than any other past or present member of Congress.

This is not the first time Congress has overthrown the President.

There are no checks and balances anymore. Congress has usurped the Article 2 and 3 powers of the Executive and the Judicial.

the dems and reps are all in this together. the dems are doing all the dirty work while the republicans stand by and allow it.

Some Repubs, like Ryan, are actively plotting the coup, but many are doing just like you say - just standing by - including the one who "represents" me.

The answer is: No. They didn't.

I'm beyond pissed.

We're a different society now. We're different people. Different culture.

You cannot hold on to the past and think that it will flourish in the present, just like you cannot make a used match burn as brightly as it initially did - eventually the flame goes out.

This is a difficult reality for many to face, especially boomers. Probably be the same for Millennials in 40 years. In general, everything changes and nothing stays the same. Not the wind, not time, not atoms, not cells, not you or me, not NOTHING.

You can either embrace the change, or spend what little is left of your life clinging onto the past and missing out on the present.

It's up to you.

You think you know what he would say, feel, think, or do because you've read some words about and/or from him? That qualifies you to make such claims?

I see what choice you've made, or rather what choice you were always going to make. I'm smart enough to know that a post on an internet forum is going to change nothing about anybody so my expectations that you would have some virtual enlightenment were low.

Anyways, it doesn't really matter. Most of the complainers don't have much time left on this Earth. The next generation rises as the previous dies off and eventually you reach a small, quiet place where they both intersect and harmony exists but for a small instant in eternity. After that the Millennials will be complaining about Generation Z, and so on and so forth.
