Sex abuse trial for Terry Bean postponed until springRegister-Guard - 10/29/2019
The sexual abuse trial scheduled for prominent Portland real estate developer and civil rights activist Terry Bean has been postponed.
The trial had been scheduled to begin in November. However, at a hearing Monday, the trial was rescheduled for May 12, 2020.
Bean is charged with two counts of third-degree sodomy and one count of third-degree sexual abuse. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Kiah Loy Lawson, 30, of Junction City, who was charged alongside Bean, was found guilty last month in Lane County Circuit Court and was sentenced to two years in prison for the same charges.
Lawson and Bean had been accused of having an illegal sexual encounter with a 15-year-old boy in a Eugene motel in 2013.
