It gets really cold here and we have a boiler which is nice heat. Only problem is that whenever the fan runs or shuts off, there's all these noises in the wall from the expansion and contraction. So. It's like, KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK! all night. Nice. I looked around and got these wax earplugs. I have yet to try them. Yikes. It makes me nervous sticking something in my ears but I need to sleep for once. Anybody heard of this problem? is your problem the noise waking you up or being nervous to use the ear plugs? |

Thank you. It's both, really. I'm listening to this clanking right now, which is fine until I try to go to sleep. Argh. I never stuck anything in my ears before lol. But I really need to sleep. It's just wax, so I guess it's not gonna kill me. |

I use the silicone type, they are very comfortable for sleeping and stick in place good, so I don't worry about it getting lost in there. |

I did this once on a camping trip and ended up having to go to Emerg. 3am in the morning. A female Dr. comes in with what looked like a knitting needle and started poking it in my ear. She made my ear bleed but never got the wax plug out. I swore at her (something I'm not in the habit of doing btw) and went back to camp. Got a needle and got the plug out by myself... no blood this time. Now I just use the orange foam ones. I've never had an issue with those type. |
