I just tried the Popeye's special chicken sandwich, and I must say...

i never tried any of them until recently
i did not find them appetizing
now that im older ive decided to give popeyes a try and they are tasty

el pollo loco's chicken bowl is delicious, it hits the spot.

Glad you liked it, OP. But I found mine to be not worth the 45 minute line back when it was crazy on social media. Had hardly any mayo on it and was dry as sand. I wonder how many people died or went to jail over this damn sandwich.

I really don't like Popeye's chicken. Its bland and not very good. Really over hyped. None of my kids do either.

I think it could be healthier than chik fil a,
I know someone that asked about opening the first franchise in the state but they told him, according to him, that they didnt want him opening another chicken restaurant, the weird thing is months later there were two new fried chicken chains opening up, the dude is gullible and naive but also very successful at any business he gets into. meh

i like their spicy chicken and cajun fries and biscuits
really unhealthy though

Their tacos al carbon are like crack. Wood-fired chicken with onions and cilantro wrapped in soft, fresh corn tortillas. Oh man!

Tastes like chicken

Might be just the cooks at the Popeye's near you are half-assing it and food quality is lower. The chicken at the Popeye's near me is spicy and full of flavor. Their popcorn shrimp is amazing. Still haven't tried the infamous sandwich yet.

so they aren't consistent with the shtick.

Just learn to cook. Want a decent chicken sand-oops sammich...get a boneless cut of chicken, grill a bit. Then cut a section that fits the chicken onto a chunk of baguette. Smear the bottom with pesto, add a slice of brie, place your chicken and add a slice of pear, then another slice of brie and bake it (you could add more pesto to the top slice but it is overkill). Easy. Fast food is crap.
