There was a handful of white middle-aged businessmen in suits. They wanted to be on the jury. You could tell by how they answered questions. They looked pissed.

I had jury duty once. Sat in a break room at the City Hall bldg waiting. And waiting. And waiting some more. Then the jury was dismissed. They made some kind of plea deal or something.

Wasted my whole day. Well, half a day really.

But they sent me a check for $15.00.

Small amount of money. Very small, like $35 a day or something.

i told em i was going to africa for 9 years on a wildlife expedition and wouldnt you believe 9 yrs later i got another summons.

thankfully, my safari leader had just emailed to say we needed to get out to zimbabwe asap. wild hippos terrorizing villagers and whatnot. i kindly explained it could be another few years till id be able to serve on the jury duty.

Tell them that until Hillary Clinton is indicted for her crimes, you do not recognize law and everyone is not guilty.

It has gotten real simple in my town to get out of duty now.

It’s all automated. I just emailed a photo of a dr’s letter.

While it was a real letter, it could easily have been a fake.

The good news is I get paid by my job during the process in addition to whatever they send me. So, lunch is technically free for up to the first two weeks anyway.

1st call the number, sometimes if will cancel you

If not show up

sit for 2 hours and most likely you will be let go.

Nothing exciting.

Doing that would depend on the case.

Tell them how you really feel and you'll be done by lunch. Don't pull no punches.

Yeah, the whole process was interesting. I actually liked it.

I spent a week in a trial of a state trooper accused of rape by his angry ex girlfriend. Worst week of my life. Ended up in a hung jury because one of the jurors believed her.

The pay really sucks

I once got as far as the final selection and I had to talk to the defense and prosecuting attorneys

I sabotaged myself sort of by acting nonchalant and using words like 'indifferent'

Haha, they even asked me what I meant by that(we all had to answer written questions beforehand)

Was there all day that time, but usually I was outta there in a couple hours

Tell them you studied law, and your best friend is a police officer, if you want to get out of there quickly.

They only like easily manipulated people in the jury box.
