It’s Sister Voyager 1 went into interstellar space in 2012
 Quoting: Jelly

My father was one of several Electrical Engineers that design the electrical components of Voyager I and Voyager II. It' nice to see his legacy continue to live on, sending back data.

Re: Voyager 2 sends message
You guys don't really believe something could transmit across 11 billion miles lol
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75117846

It absolutely can, and does. It’s pretty straightforward. Starlight “transmits” across thousands of light-years using a similar principle.

Will probably last much longer:

"The radioisotope power systems on NASA spacecraft today harness heat from the natural radioactive decay of plutonium-238 oxide. The United States first launched a radioisotope thermoelectric generator (RTG) into space on a satellite in 1961."

Half-life of plutonium 238 is 87 years.

Re: Voyager 2 sends message
We need to send Voyager 3 with a new message about how Earth now has 162 genders with men that can give birth and Climate Changers that will eat the babies.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 43528338

If intelligent life exists beyond earth, I think they already know everything. It's why they avoid this planet like we avoid bad neighborhoods.

Right.

A "42 year old machine, 11 billion miles away is sending messages."

Now read that back to yourself.

Notice anything?

How utterly retarded that sounds?

But hey, NASA cant get back into space.

LOL.

Fucking hilarious.
