If anyone wants to have a large breed dog, may I suggest at least going to Search and Rescue dog training with them. At least to level 2. And to keep what I would call a perimeter dog used to protecting a space (in my instance it was 33 acres) in a keenel rather then in a neighbours/friends place. This is so easily solvable a problem.

i live in a small town, and my dogs are contained on my property and have never escaped..IF somebody's kid gets attacked its because they weren't taking care of that kid and teaching it not to commit crimes by trespassing and the kid was antagonizing, hurting or otherwise abusing the dog, the dog is just doing its job.
