this is because democracy is a Brit word for those under control of the British CROWN and the US has been under the crown since the end of the civil war.

Democracy is otherwise as you said... rule by a tyranny of the majority... We have it here because we are part of the British Crown. This has been proven and I have that someplace years and years ago on my website.. You should be able to find the topic on Google unless its been scratched.
