It was heavy Blue Dog Democrat for years. When I first registered (almost 40 years ago) I registered Democrat. Not because of feeling part of the party but because the Republicans would rarely have primary races at all and often did not even run candidates in the general. So to participate - you had to be registered Democrat. But things started to change during Reagan years and state has gone more Red over the years. But back-to-back governorships has not happened. |
