She's illegally running. Used by the Founders... Book I of The Law of Nations, Chapter XIX, § 212 (Joseph Chitty numbering) – “Citizens and natives” reads: 'The citizens are the members of the civil society; bound to this society by certain duties, and subject to its authority, they equally participate in its advantages. The natives, or natural-born citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens. As the society cannot exist and perpetuate itself otherwise than by the children of the citizens, those children naturally follow the condition of their fathers, and succeed to all their rights.' 1758 Emerich de Vattel Oh' What the Hell, do I look like I want to die in some nursing home one day... America must have 4 new Constitutional Amendments... 1. Drug Tests and Mental Evaluations on all politicians and judges randomly five times per year. 2. Term Limits for Federal politicians and judges. 3. Mental and health standards for Supreme Court Justices and retirement age set. 4. A 'Star Chamber' of elected Natural Born Citizens (no attorney's) to ivestigate, try, and prosecute the politicians and government employee's as they see fit. Mandatory death penalty by public hanging is the merciful sentence for pedos and their associates. Democrats are a WMD, literally. Let Justice Be Done Though The Heavens Fall. |

We may have some issues here & there, but for the most part, it's a great place to call home! Now if we can begin to tone down the liberal areas of the state, things will be awesome!!! We have crazy high property tax already and store sales tax runs almost 9 percent. We are already taxed to death here, I'm sure that's why everyone didn't want or could afford a state tax. My parents moved us from New Hampshire due to crazy taxes. |

Our home is old and paid off and in need of repair but, we have to scrape and starve just to pay the $3500.00 the county wants in property tax. We're also down to one old vehicle. Love Texas, but life here is too hard for middle class. |

Texas is at 8.18% with the lowest burden for Alaska at 5.10%. So they definitionally make up for the lack of income tax in many other areas. No one is free. I wonder what is more burdensome, income tax or property tax? |

Quoting: Outland If you want to give your money away then send it to me, please. I won't waste it like the government does. I'd bet some of that is due to the way the proposition was worded. NO was to impose income tax, YES was to ban it. Could have confused some. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78094205 IF you truly reside in Canada, step over to New Hampshire as all that's there is federal taxation and property tax,not even sales tax. and yes there are low tax/unincorporated towns the same or simply rent. not all areas are paying real estate taxes tht are off the wall. PLUS,their climate would be easier to tolerate. |

Texans voted against having government. We will see how that works out for y'all. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe they collect enough in sales tax. TX is a big state and even directly "outside" city limits makes a difference in your property taxes but they can still screw you w/their inflated assessments etc.and always factor in their school districts which remains the problem. THOUSANDS for them. |

I had to read over it a couple of times to make sure my vote was AGAINST it. |

It's great for renters, but it's a heavy burden on property owners. When a $200K house is taxed at about $6K a year, and the sales tax is 8.5% in many counties, you realize where Texas gets the money necessary to run the state. Property taxes due January 1st, right after Christmas, unless you have a mortgage and have the foresight to have them charge you taxes along with your house payment. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Texas. I always will. Texas is like a hot guy in tight Wranglers. Exciting nights, but in the morning, your purse is gonna be a bit lighter in the wallet. |
