First off, the US military's JOB is to spend the bazillions of dollars we are forced to pay it to prepare for global war. I guess it is newsworthy that they are using the funds as intended, instead of piddling it away blowing up sand dunes to protect cia drug runners and terrorist assets, but it is not something untoward.
