Im nobody. Just a layman that pays attention and reads a lot of shit. If I can see the writing on the wall, then I guarantee people and institutions better educated. trained and organized than me; historians, socio-political and military analysts inside government, see it coming and are preparing. There are simply way too many converging global crises. It cannot be successfully navigated. Politically the divides are too deep. We're already in a state of severe global tension. Just hasnt boiled over into war yet. But the wheels are already in motion and cant be stopped.

I am not sure that when it becomes an actual crisis in the country that it will be global but very local. If the dollar collapses and we have hyperinflation or some other trigger, I think the army will withdraw from all it's far flung mini feifdoms. Then needing purpose the military will step into the breach left by the breakdown of people no longer tolerating the greedy corrupt politicians. America's next political system will probably be a military junta. Is this what your hubs is getting in his feels? And you, what are you feeling about where all this is headed? I think the canary in the coalmine is the shift from guns and butter issues in the political realm to guns and guns. The drop of all pretense of concern for the society/economics and income disparities.
