When talking about schools I like to use this example...

Radio talk show host Micheal Savage went to school in New York City. Since he's about 80 years old now I guess his schooling was in the 1950's. As a student he had a rifle class. That's right, students were allowed to shoot rifles, learn marksmanship, learn how to take them apart and clean them, an actual shooting class. Just imagine that today. It's nearly impossible unless it's a very strict military school. Imagine a class like that in Chicago today... lols.

Students grow into adults and so it makes perfect sense for there to be rightful respect of your teachers only if they treat their students properly and are good teachers, bad teachers don't deserve any respect at all, bad teachers are worthless wastes of space.

Teachers should only be respective if the teachers respect their students as human beings, so its rightful for the students and the teacher to respect all of each other equally because that is equally and it makes everything work out nicely

Washing people's mouths with soap..... is that if they curse totally wrongfully or if they curse with a right to curse at someone because that someone is a bad person who actually deserves to be cursed at? hmmmmmmm, with that wash your mouth with soap comment you sound like an abusive asshole, go wash your ass with soap its GROSSLY DISGUSTING LOL

I've never come across anyone who went to a school where they put soap in the mouths of students that just sounds really crazy, there are definitely much better ways to punish someone for cursing like explaining what a lousy piece of trash they are(without using the exact word trash unless they were curing VERY horribly) for cursing at people because that really makes them see themselves for what they are and that teaches them the best to not wrongfully curse at people, but with you being extremely retarded you are not able to think of that!

It was almost military-like. Standing up when a superior (teacher) walkedä in. Greetings (e.g. "Good morning, teacher!") were mandatory and the entire class would say it in unison. You always asked for a permission to speak. You did not leave the class until you were dismissed by the teacher.

You were punished if you forgot books or hadn't done your homework. Your mouth was washed with soap (really) if you cursed.

Back then nobody had ADHD or exhibited chronic bad behavior.

Most important of all, the parents didn't make excuses for their kids or tried to get special rules for their "special kid". Everybody was treated the same.

If you got good grades or the teacher commended you, you KNEW you had done a good job. No participation trophies back then.

When I was at school at the age of 8, drinking a third of a pint of milk in the mornings was mandatory for every child. If a full bottle was left over, then we were all kept behind until someone "owned up" to not drinking his/her bottle up. If no one owned up, we all received the cane on our knuckles.

A lot of those very strict teachers just want to hurt students and many kinds of people just to hurt them for the sake of hurting them because they get enjoyment and pleasure out of inflicting pain for the sake of causing pain and not because they feel those people deserve it as their #1 reason to hurtfully punish people, especially if they punish a person for doing something they had a right to do because they were doing it to a rotten asshole like the overly strict rude worthless waste of space teacher.

People who want to hurt other people just for the sake of hurting them and not because they deserve it as their #1 reason to hurt other people are VERY bad people obvious and they are very huge sons of bitches with the guys and bitches with the girls, they really are worthless waste of space piles of sh!t, period.

Hehe...ok punk, this is 'grandma' here to relate a true story of one teacher in my public high school.

Anyone who's an old Broughton High School (Raleigh, NC) alumni will either know firsthand or via historic legend about our old German language teacher, Herr Watt.

The man was always dressed in an impeccable suit and tie. If he had a student fall asleep at their desk, Herr Watt would walk over, grab the desk and flip the offending student onto the floor.

On test days or exam week, if you came to class dressed in your Sunday best, then you would receive extra credit put towards your test score.

And woe be to the pair of students who decided to throw hands-n-feet in the hallway or outside if Herr Watt was in sight. Just the sight of him stalking over towards fight to intervene made stupid kids stop and run.

Oh, what fond memories growing up in public school <sigh>.

All of that was thrown out the door and shit has gone sideways so quickly.

The Protected Culture Act of 1964 was passed (aka) The Affirmative Action Law and from this point forward it has been a race to the bottom of the learning scale.

Affirmative action describes policies that support members of a disadvantaged group that has previously suffered discrimination (and may continue to) in such areas as education, employment, or housing. Historically and internationally, support for affirmative action has sought to achieve goals such as bridging inequalities in employment and pay, increasing access to education, promoting diversity, and redressing apparent past wrongs, harms, or hindrances.

Re: In the 70s we had DISCIPLINE in schools. What happened?
Back then teachers focused on teaching academics instead of social conditioning. When I was in school it was hard to get a perfect mark on anything. You would get marked down a point for every spelling and punctuation mistake, back when the only spell check was your own proof reading and hard copy dictionary for reference. You had to write it all by hand, no backspace or delete. If you made a mistake you had to write it all out again. Today a kid gets bonus points for handing an assignment in on time. Even with the spellcheck and other tools, kids can't compose anything coherent and correctly written anymore. Serious misbehavior used to get you the strap or suspended, and then the parents would beat your ass when you got home. There used to be consequences to actions and bad attitude. Kids today don't learn cause and effect, there are no consequences, just coddling.

Throwing an underaged person onto the floor just for sleeping is physical assault obviously, sleeping in class is obviously a bad thing to do and is something no one should do on purpose obviously but sleeping in class in not being physically violent or threatening or emotionally harming so therefor you do NOT solve non harmful stuff with violence obviously.

If you think that throwing students onto the floor for non harmful but still wrong sleeping in class is ok or a good thing to do then you are a very twisted very bad person because there are obviously much better non abusive ways to deal with students sleeping in class, like giving them an in school suspension during lunch in they keep sleeping in class on purpose after giving them some warnings not to do it, no teacher is going just let their students sleep in class for longer then very short periods if they are a good teacher.

If you think fine for a teacher to physically assault a person by throwing a student onto the floor for sleeping once in class then you are a huge punk yourself and that would make you a huge hypocrite and just a vile disgusting worthless stupid crap stain, and it sure appears that you think its just fine for nasty rotten crap stain asshole teachers to physically abuse students by throwing them on the floor instead of taking non abusive measures to successfully completely stop students from sleeping in class.

If I knew of a teacher who threw a student on the floor for sleeping instead of giving them a warning telling them that if they keep sleeping in class they will get a detention or more then one detention if they keep sleeping in class then I will call the police on that teacher and press charges against them for physical assault you VERY retarded nasty rotten asshole crap stain, you're putridly gross and that's just VERY extremely embarrassing, yes that's right I know that about you ROFL.

I honestly don't care what bs you have to say back to me because I know my interests are for the greater good of everything good and my statements are true no matter what other people say :)

See what the Communists have done to this poor person. They weaken the youth until they are such snowflakes they are offended by everything. Probably thinks spankings are assault and CPS should come and take people's kids away who use discipline.

Weak men who can't fight, who certainly couldn't go to war. you have to be willing to shoot children in the face in war. Not bitch and complain about tossing someone out of a desk you should be training how to be a man.
