Families in the 70s were still quite decent, with all their problems.
You never heared a child call their parents "Mary" or "John". Today its like it is a shame to not talk like this. I think it is the modern directives to the parents and the school, that destroyed whatever was healthy in social ties.
Quoting: Ostria1 I don't really know how public schools in my area are now- I graduated from high school in 2010- actually a year before I was supposed to because I was homeschooled for a few years and skipped a grade when I started public school. Anyway, I have a niece and nephews, but they are either homeschooled or in private schools. None have had to be in daycare, fortunately.
