Yes indeed. If you read Genesis carefully, you learn that God created our companion animals (cats, dog, horses etc.)before He created Eve, because Adam was lonely. Thus our companion animals were specifically created full of God's love and with a willingness to live together with us. It's really amazing when you think about it.

Studies have shown cats are smarter than dogs but they are much harder to train .
Anyway it is much better to hear a cat story instead of another a dog ate the baby story.

My Mom, all 5 foot nothing of her, was not comfortable around strange dogs. One day when she went out to check the mail, a strange German Shepherd moved menacingly toward her and she was frozen with fright. Our Siamese cat Zachariah came tearing from the back yard to the front of the house and jumped on the menacing dog's neck. During the ensuing scuffle, Mom was able to retreat safely in to the house. The dog ran off, and Zachariah returned to the back yard to lick his balls or whatever cats do.

When I potty trained my puppy in the side room it looked cleaner that that paint chipped, feces littered shithole.

Even if that rug rat tumbled down a flight of cement stairs I doubt the black haired rubber ball would be damaged.
