Schiff, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, made his remarks in a letter to Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., the ranking member of the panel. In the letter, Schiff highlighted questions that will be used to determine whether a witness’s testimony is pertinent.

Those questions include whether President Donald Trump:

Requested “that a foreign leader and government initiate investigations to benefit the president’s personal interests.”

Sought to use his office “to apply pressure on the head of state and government of Ukraine to advance the President’s personal political interests.”

Looked to obstruct or cover up any evidence regarding his actions.

They indeed should call whoever and ask whatever they want and if denied all republicans should leave and not return leaving the democrats to hold their mock trial by themselves. The Senate should reject any indictment as invalid due to the democrat fake investigations.

Instead of asking about their knowledge of the President’s call ask the following:

Are you aware of Adam Schiff having conversations at The Standard Hotel?
Have you had ANY phone calls with Adam Schiff’s staff?
Have you heard of the child trafficking organization Liddle Kidz Foundation?
Do you think Adam Schiff has had relations or fantasies of relations with children?

All Republicans have to do to render this null and void is to ask the witness their full name and birthday.

Any response on the witness's part allows them to ask any question unless Schiff stops them.

If you are running for president then you cannot be investigated by anything. What is Schiff doing here ? He can't investigate the Prez until after the 2020 election when he will have "more flexibility"

And why shouldn't it? This impeachment is about trump bribing the Ukraine president. Once it's in the senate it will be a free for all and the Republicans can bring up all the witnesses they want. It will be the trial of the century and hopefully nobody is left standing, Democrats and Republicans.

But the resolution passed by the House last week specifically says that Schiff would have the final say over which witnesses the GOP could call, with Democrats saying they wanted to prevent sideshows and grandstanding, while the Republicans want to be able to rebut key witnesses.

If Schiff were to veto any of the GOP’s witnesses, the matter would go to a vote before the full committee, which is controlled by the Democrats.
