In theory and in history this is true but we live in a different time now that any time in the past.

People have become too comfortable in their lives and that breeds complacency. There are more “comforts of home’” these days and folks don’t want to risk losing that. If you lived a more miserable existence, like in previous century’s, you would be much more likely to sacrifice your not so great existence to try to achieve a better one.

Now, many feel like they could lose what they have in pursuit of something better. The risk is too great for the reward in many people’s minds.

Now, if something of that comfort was taken away..
