OP is right. It happened to all the monarchies in europe except for Germany under the wise direction of otto von bismarck.
It will happen again. This time, its democracy and representative government that will be the victim of the mob.
The army will get tired of shooting people, and eventually turn their guns on the leaders and force them out.
The army is the only thing that matters.
