Alabama, US of A, May 20, 2013.
Teacher: Thought Adjuster.
Subject: “About Guidance.”
Message received by Oscar.

Thought Adjuster: “How could you be more useful to humanity and to the Father? Searching for your own glory or making an effort to find your place in the mosaic of creation? All the hidden talents in your being can be explored in eternity. If you live your life with the firm and honest intention to follow the divine will, the best of your being will arise, and you will walk the path that the Father has prepared for you – the path that will bring you greater satisfaction, will teach you the lessons you need to learn and when you need to learn them.

“Many among you fear the wasting of their lives. You worry because maybe a talent you possess could produce great results for you and others. However, you cannot see with precision what the results of your efforts will be. When you start something without a clear reason, it is like walking in darkness, with no sure way to determine where you will end up. On the other hand, if you start something new with the intent of being the best you can aspire to be for the glory of your Father – dedicated to His will – you are walking a path lit up by a beacon that takes you to your eternal destiny...

The Jewish people are to follow the 613 commandments. Gentiles are to follow the 7 Noahide laws. It's that simple.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77440428

Show us where in scripture you base your facts on?
 Quoting: Achduke7

The source of the 613 commandments is the Torah, which is comprised of the first five (5) books of the Hebrew Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.

The great Jewish sage, Maimonides, in his book, Sefer Hamitzvot, provides a list of all of the 613 commandments and where they are located in the Torah. You can find his list of the 613 commandments and where in the Torah they were found here:

[link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)]

After the great Flood, the covenant between the Creator, Noah, and Noah's descendants is briefly mentioned in Genesis 9. Here is the list of Noahide laws, and where in scripture you can learn more about these rules:

Not to worship idols - Ex. 20:3. Lev. 24:16
Not to curse G-d - Ex. 22:27, Lev. 24:10-17
Establish laws and courts of justice - Gen. 9:5-6
Not to commit murder - Gen. 9:6. Ex.: 24:3
Not to commit forbidden sexual relations - Gen. 2:24, 20:13, 19:29-36
Not to steal - Gen. 2:16-17, 34:2
Flesh of a living animal prohibited - Genesis 9:4

The Noahide laws are the basic laws for civilization. The 613 laws are designed for the Jewish people to follow.

The Torah was for Israel and not just the Jewish people. The Torah also specifies it is the same law for Israel and foreigners among them.

If you are a child of God then you are part of Israel. Israel has been cut out of the tree. Only the root remains and gentiles and native Israel are grafted back in.

Romans 11:13 Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry

Romans 11:17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree,

Romans 11:24 For if you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree.

6 I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.
10 Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.
11 Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.
12 Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands.
13 The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.
14 I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.
15 I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up
the pools.
16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.
17 They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods.
18 Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see.
19 Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD'S servant?
20 Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not.
21 The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.
22 But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.
23 Who among you will give ear to this? who will hearken and hear for the time to come?
24 Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the LORD, he against whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they obedient unto his law.
25 Therefore he hath poured upon him the fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.

Jeremiah 16

14 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be said, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
15 But, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers.
16 Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the LORD, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.
17 For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes.
18 And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled my land, they have filled mine inheritance with the carcases of their detestable and abominable things.
19 O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
I am a humble Servant of the one True Living God.

Read Leviticus and Deuteronomy and you’ll see that many of the OT laws are illegal now. So you would get arrested and go to prison for following those laws. You already pick and choose which OT laws to follow, same as Jesus did. The answer is clear, Follow the laws of the country you live in, not the laws of the Old Testament.

Re: Does Jesus want me to follow the laws of the Old Testament? Yes or no?
I don't personally care about this stuff but just to answer OP's question. Gentiles only have 7 laws to follow, the laws of Noah (or Noahide laws). These are the basic things you have to follow to enter "heaven". You don't have to follow any other OT laws (unless you want to, of course). From Wikipedia:

According to Jooish tradition, non-chosen people of G-d who adhere to these laws because they were given by Moses[4] are said to be followers of Noahidism and regarded as righteous gentiles, who are assured of a place in Olam Haba (עולם הבא, the world to come), the final reward of the righteous.[5][6]

The Seven Laws
The seven Noahide laws as traditionally enumerated are the following:[7][8]

Not to worship idols.
Not to curse God.
To establish courts of justice.
Not to commit murder.
Not to commit adultery, bestiality, or sexual immorality.
Not to steal.
Not to eat flesh torn from a living animal
.

Incidentally, again, it is RIDICULOUS to not be able to use the common word(s) to describe the Hebraic people. Here we are talking about their actual history and laws and the words are changed or omitted, or people get banned. That's just silly.

Simple Daily Faith & Living

Thank the Father for sending His Son to us
Thank Jesus for doing the Father's Will
Repent to God the Father for your sins
Give thanks for daily blessings...regardless of how simple / "ordinary" they may seem
Love others and forgive them as necessary
Pray for others and help them if possible
Read the Bible and ask Jesus or the Father for guidance concerning it
Pray / ask the Father to show HIS WILL for you to do

Just that sentence alone....(Or do we Christians get to pick and choose what we want to follow?)......proves you aren't a Christian. A real Christian would never ask that, because they already know the answer. Instead of asking questions on a board full of mainly atheists and agnostics that love to troll every single religious thread - why don't you go to a church and ask a preacher or ask God Himself?

All of Isaiah 53:

53 gWho has believed what he has heard from us?1
And to whom has hthe arm of the Lord been revealed?
2 For he grew up before him like a young plant,
iand like a root out of dry ground;
jhe had no form or majesty that we should look at him,
and no beauty that we should desire him.
3 kHe was despised and rejected2 by men,
a man of sorrows3 and acquainted with4 grief;5
and as one from whom men hide their faces6
he was despised, and lwe esteemed him not.
4 mSurely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
nsmitten by God, and afflicted.
5 oBut he was pierced for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
pand with his wounds we are healed.
6 qAll we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turned—every one—to his own way;
rand the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted,
syet he opened not his mouth;
tlike a ulamb that is led to the slaughter,
and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent,
so he opened not his mouth.
8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away;
and as for his generation, vwho considered
that he was cut off out of the land of the living,
stricken for the transgression of my people?
9 And they made his grave with the wicked
wand with a rich man in his death,
although xhe had done no violence,
and there was no deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet yit was the will of the Lord to crush him;
he has put him to grief;7
zwhen his soul makes8 an offering for guilt,
he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days;
athe will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
11 Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see9 and be satisfied;
by his knowledge shall bthe righteous one, my servant,
cmake many to be accounted righteous,
dand he shall bear their iniquities.
12 eTherefore I will divide him a portion with the many,10
fand he shall divide the spoil with the strong,11
because he poured out his soul to death
and was numbered with the transgressors;
gyet he bore the sin of many,
and makes intercession for the transgressors.

Re: Does Jesus want me to follow the laws of the Old Testament? Yes or no?
I too have wrestled with these thoughts and ideas - for many years.
Here’s where I have landed.
God and his commandments are the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Therefore what He ‘commanded’ hasn’t changed, unless Jesus says so - why? Jesus is God. What He said, God told Him to say.
It has been helpful for me to understand that the Commandments, covenants, statues you refer to are God’s direction for us to have a full, rich, and abundant life. Not laws to punish us for bad behavior. The consequence of breaking the laws is the punishment.
Meaning, we’ll feel more separate, more alone, more desperate when we indulge in any and all types of sin (breaking the law(s)).
So, do we need to ‘obey’ every and all Commandments to be ‘saved’. Absolutely not (that would be a ‘saved by works’ theology). Instead, I am lovingly obedient because that is what we do, in relationship - with people we love. I choose to follow the Lord’s commandments because He has lovingly told me ‘this is what is right and good for you’, and ‘I give you these commandments/laws for your own good and protection.’
Always remember “For I know the plans I have for you’ declares the Lord, ‘Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’
How does He do this? By us willfully and lovingly obeying His Commandments. To do otherwise: a) to pick and choose which commandments/laws to obey is arrogant, prideful, and exactly where Adam and Eve went wrong in the Garden, b) to ignore or disobey them, is to invite consequences of this disobedience, and c) to suggest these things are not to true is to also say that God, Jesus, the Spirit and the Bible are all liars...and that is foolishness to the 10th power.
Remember the 10 virgins? Think about the 5 that knew the word, even waited on the Lord, but were unprepared (not enough oil)...and they were told ‘I don’t know you.’
We need to know and be know by Jesus. Following His commandments is a way of showing we Linkow, like, admire, respect, and love Him. That is what John 14:15 and on is suggesting.
In conclusion, I have settled on God wanting us to follow His commandments because of His great love of us, not out of fear of retribution.

Jesus said the 10 Commandments are the love of God and of the neighbor.

For a person of faith, if they are sincere, they can start with the Noahide laws, and start slowly adapting many of the 613 commandments. If they so choose, they can eventually decide to convert to Judaism and follow all 613 commandments.

The whole anti-Noahide theme in this thread is kind of weird. The Noahide laws are nearly identical to the Ten Commandments.

Follow as many laws as you can.

Start by giving up bacon/pork.

It was given to Noah, BY GOD, when God told him to bring the animals into the Ark.

God specifically instructs Noah.

Clean animals were pairs of 7 each.

Unclean animals pairs of 2 each.

Why make a distinction of clean and unclean, if God didn't wish it to be followed?

Genesis 7:2-5 King James Version (KJV)
2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.

3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.

5 And Noah did according unto all that the Lord commanded him.

God's Final Judgments against the Wicked
Isaiah 66
15For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

16For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.

17They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.

Numbers 23:19
God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
